Android 15 Beta 3: Special Update for These Phones, Is Your Model Included?

The stable version of the Android 15 operating system is expected to be released in October, likely following the launch of the Pixel 9 series. During the I/O Tech Conference, Google announced the latest Android 15 operating system. Subsequently, the first and second beta updates of this latest OS version were rolled out in April and May, respectively. Now, Google has released the highly anticipated third beta update of Android 15. This suggests that the tech giant, led by Sundar Pichai, will soon launch the stable version of this latest OS. Let’s find out which devices are eligible for the new Android 15 Beta 3 update and what features it offers.

As mentioned earlier, the release of the Beta 3 update of the Android 15 operating system indicates that there is only one step left before the stable version is launched. Therefore, it can be assumed that all developer APIs and app functionality are ready for final developer preview testing. Simply put, the release of the new beta update means that apps compatible with Android 15 will gradually appear on the Google Play Store.

The Android 15 Beta 2 update, rolled out last month, focused on system productivity and enhanced privacy features. On the other hand, the latest Android 15 Beta 3 update introduces a few new features and upgrades. According to the company’s official blog, the new update primarily focuses on improving the Passkey UI of the operating system. Google has stated that the Beta 3 version links the Passkey UI with a biometric authentication system. This allows users to sign in to Passkey-enabled apps using either face unlock, fingerprint scanner, or password options, without having to deal with the hassle of dual authentication systems.

However, if the Passkey prompt is accidentally dismissed while signing into an app, Passkey or related information will be shown in the autofill UI, similar to the drop-down suggestions in the keyboard, allowing users to try signing in to the app again.

In addition to the redesigned Passkey UI, Google has introduced several new features. For instance, a new Private Space feature has been added to lock specific apps for extra security. The Android 15 Beta 3 update allows users to force shut down any app indefinitely, though the apps can be reopened. Additionally, support for back animation and memory page size features is included.
